Introducing "Bella Notte"--Beautiful Nights!

After much testing, tweaking and more testing, my new night time diapers are ready for release!

They are just a squishy cloud of softness. Made from all bamboo/organic cotton fleece, they are super absorbent. They are turned & top-stitched to avoid any chafing possibility from serged edges. And right now, for this stocking, they have vanilla snaps, but I might offer colored snap options in the future.

I used my Stages pattern, so you can get a good fit, for a longer time, but with not too much bulk. This has snap-down rise settings so the diaper can fit multiple sizes. Stage 1 fits size newborn and small, Stage 2 fits medium and large.

They also come with my Snap-In Snap-Together soaker system. Each diaper has a smaller soaker and a larger one. Either can snap into the diaper separately, or they can be snapped together, and then be snapped into the diaper. This gives you flexibility in customizing the absorbency for your baby, without having to fold the ends of the soakers so they can fit.

When the diaper is set to the smaller setting, you can snap in just the small soaker, and then fold the larger soaker and lay it under the small one for more absorbency right where you need it.

The diaper also comes with an extra long booster that is 2 layers of bamboo fleece. Fold it in half and place it under the snap in soaker for 4 mores layers, or fold it in thirds and place it directly in the wetzone (up front for boys, in the middle for girls) and get 6 extra layers.

With both soakers snapped in and the extra long booster folded in thirds, you will have 15 layers (!) of thirsty bamboo! And amazingly, it is in a rather trim package.

Yep, yep, I'm not the world's greatest blogger. Time spent online is time spent away from the sewing machine. BUT, I'm stocking Heartland Dreams on April 30 at 2pm (est). (That's my birthday btw).

I've been slightly, er, obsessed with knitting lately. I learned last fall (amazing what you can learn from youtube), and after inundating my family with knit wear for Christmas, and knitting all winter, I'm venturing into the world of longies/shorties/skirties. I've got some of my first offerings listed this week.

I've also got a variety of diapers--all fitteds this go around. Look for some One Size All-in-Two's on Mainstreet on Monday, May 3.

I haven't been doing much sewing lately. My FIL passed away almost 2 weeks ago, so life has been busy.

But I had a few items that I had just completed prior to getting "the call", and was able to get them listed to stock on Main Street for April 3. They will stock at 12:30 eastern time.

Hey all. Just thought I'd let you know why you aren't seeing anything new on my Hyena Cart.

I'm going to be guest stocking on a congo called WAHM Nation on March 20, at 8am (that's eastern time). WAHM Nation is a congo associated with the discussion board Cloth Diaper Nation. The board is a place where you can talk fluff, and lots of other stuff too.

The theme for the month is "Cabin Fever Cures", and you'll see all sorts of things to help you break out of the winter doldrums and look forward excitedly to Spring and Summer. I had fun sewing for this one.

And these are all cotton/poly velour. Sooo tempting to just wrap myself up in these!

Nothing like a little new fabric to rev up the motivation to sew.

Got these today.

The 2 giraffe prints on the left are poly pul, and will become pockets or ai2's. The other 4 prints are all cotton interlocks.

I've got a custom to finish up, and 2 more in process dipes to finish, and then I can cut into this yummy goodness. It's already washed up and ready to go. Need to wash up some more bamboo fleece tomorrow.

These won't be ready for this week's stocking most likely, but I should have some done for Main Street on the third of Feb.

I will be stocking again this week on Friday (the 29th) at 2pm (eastern time).

Didn't take long did it? For me to forget to blog that is. But, new year, new start, right?

I took most of December off to enjoy the Christmas Season with my family, and we had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I hope you did too.

I started the year with a bang by unveiling not one, but TWO new diaper designs!

The first--a one size snappiable/pinnable fitted. The fit is almost infinitely adjustable with the ability to fold over the rise as much or as little as needed, and to fasten with a pin or Snappi where ever the fit is best. Adding to the flexibility is the snap-in snap-together soaker system. Depending on which soaker(s) you use, and how you fold them, you can achieve up to 14 layers of absorbency in the wetzone! In addition to the snap-in soakers, each diaper comes with a separate lay in booster as well.

Oh, and did I mention that Introductory Pricing is in effect for these through the month of January? You can get them for $18 rather than the full price of $21 that will be in effect Feb 1. There are some available on my Hyena Cart, as well as on the congo, Sugar N Spice where I was a guest vendor this month.

The second new style is my Dream Fit Stages. Stages are a multi-sized diapering system. Stage 1 is sized nb/small, Stage 2 is med/large. This is an economical option for those who find traditional one sized diapers bulky on newborns, but don't want to invest in a diaper that only fits for a few weeks like most newborn sizes. Stage 1 fits babies approximately 7-19 pounds. Stage 2 fits babies approximately 17-35+ pounds. The size adjusts with a snap-down rise. The snap-in snap-together soaker system provides flexibility in absorbency to the needs of your baby.

There is still a Stage 2 available on my Hyena Cart.

And, I was still in a designing mood this weekend, so I cooked up a One Size All-In-Two, and tweaked the wings to be a bit longer on the snappiable/pinnable above so I could add snaps to it.

A special stocking for the kids of Heartland Dreams

Our kids are pretty crafty, and enjoy sharing their craft with others. So they decided to do a special stocking of giftable items just in time for Christmas. These items will stock on Heartland Dreams on Monday, November 9 at 1 pm (eastern time). They have been working like crazy to complete a variety of items, and I think you'll agree that they've done very well.

Our dd is 11, and quite handy with a crochet hook. I'm so proud of how her crochet doll family turned out! She started with a basic pattern, and then added details to create each individual personality. I couldn't wait till she finished another so I could she what she'd come up with. I must admit, Grandma and Grandpa are my favorites.

She's got some playfood in the works too. We'll get those up in the next day or two.

Not to be left out, the boys have been busy at the scroll saw making ornaments. I love the way the natural wood beauty shows through on these. So unique!

One Size testers are ready!

I've been working on new product development lately and finally have a couple of one size snapped fitted testers ready to go out. I'll be handpicking these testers, but if info comes back positive, I'll be making more testers and listing them on my cart.

I've also worked up a one size snappiable fitted, and a multi-sized staged fitted.

I am excited about all the new products I'll be able to offer soon!

New product Introduction! Bamboosters (TM)

For all those times you wish you could have just a little more absorbency in your fitted diaper, now you can!

Bambooster (TM) Ovals are 2 layers of rayon from bamboo fleece, serged smooth side out. You can place them between the petals of your Heartland Dreams fitted (or any other fitted for that matter). If you need even more absorbency, fold in half and place directly in the wet zone for 4 layers of super thirsty fleece.

Have you ever wished there was a natural fiber option for pocket stuffers? Well, there are prefolds of course, but bamboo fabrics are so much more absorbent. Now, with these Bambooster (TM) Tri-folds, you can have it all. Two layers of rayon from bamboo fleece give 6 super thirsty layers when tri-folded. Generously sized to fit all sizes of pocket diapers, they can be folded the opposite way to fit smaller sizes. Fold lines are stitched in to assist in folding and to keep the insert from twisting and bunching after washing.

For a nap or night solution, combine a tri-fold with 1 or 2 Ovals for unbeatable protection.

Well, with play rehearsals, school and a busy 2 1/2 yo, I haven't had as much sewing time lately, but I've finally gotten enough product made to have another stocking. I'm planning on stocking my store on Hyena Cart on Tuesday, Sept 29, at 2pm (est). You can find it here, Heartland Dreams.

Mountain Man Rendevous

Had a fun day. We took a field trip with the local homeschool group to the Mountain Man Rendevous--basically a reenactment of the meetups in wilder times between trappers and traders. Lots of people dressed in buckskin, tents and teepees, wood fires with coffee pots warming over them, and lots of old time crafts and activities.

There were exhibitions of fire starting with flint and steel, apple butter making (with samples), Indian beadworking, ax throwing (the kids got to take a turn with that one), shooting demonstrations with muzzle loaders, etc.

My boys loved talking knives, guns and bow and arrows with the men, and dd loved the trinkets and such around. The toddler wasn't thrilled, but she was in the mei tai most of the time and pretty happy with that.

We only found out about it last night, but I'm glad we went.

Now I need to do a little sewing, but I'm just so tired. Got to sleep at 1am last night, up at 7, and lots of walking and fresh air. Yaaawwwwn. LOL.

So, I've taken the plunge into the blog world--we'll see how this goes. I've always been a horrible failure at journaling-I'd start off with great enthusiasm, and next thing I knew, it had been 6 months since I'd written anything. Hopefully this medium will be easier to keep up with.

I intend this blog to be mostly about my sewing business--primarily cloth diapers. But because of the "M" in that Wahm word (work at home mom), it will invariably include tidbits about my children as well. And, because we live on a farm, you might even get the occasional update about calves being born, the garden harvest, or haying time. As if that weren't enough to keep a mom busy, we also homeschool, so that might provide fodder for entries as well.

I hope you enjoy my little corner of cyber world, and the peek into my life that it provides.
